I'm looking for the story where Rodney and John set up a Marines vs. Scientists capture the flag competition, and Rodney takes it very seriously - using the strategies of Sun Tzu, etc. Rodney's call sign is going to be Marty McFly, Zelenka's is going to be Max Payne. The stakes are a favor owed, at least between Rodney and John.

But Rodney's having relationship troubles with Katie Brown, and at the last minute she like, breaks her arm or something and he can't participate in the competition.

The scientists give the marines a really good fight, a marine makes a crack about how he can't believe they're getting their asses kicked by "a beaker called Schrodinger's Pussy" but in the end, the marines win.

Anybody know what this story is? I've read it a bazillion times but never quite bookmarked it.

ETA: Remember Paul Van Riker - sadly flocked, though ironically a community I had already joined!

I'm looking for the fic where the team is offworld, sitting around a fire during a mission, and Ronon imitates Rodney. I remember this making the rest of the team laugh really hard. John may be telling this story to someone else. Thank you.

I've been trying to remember the name of this one John/Rodney AU. I remember that John moves next door to Rodney and he's repairing his house. Rodney has a child (a girl I believe) and at some point John buys a dog. My memories are pretty vague, but I believe in a sequel John breaks his leg in a hit and run accident and the dog allerts Rodney and the daughter that he's hurt.

A while back I remember reading a story that had a female John Sheppard (I think John had been born a woman in this AU, not genderswitched) dating Lex Luthor. I'm fairly certain it ended, or had elements, of McShep in it as well, and female John may have been a teacher. Sorry this is so vague, but it was a while ago xD I'm also pretty sure this story was by Pru but I can't find it on her website so maybe I'm wrong about that. Thank you! :)

Would somebody be kind enough to link me to the story where Rodney recites "In Flanders Fields" and he's all sarcastic because yes they honour the fallen, but they (the military) completely forgets about the scientists who gave their lives? He, instead, sneaks off to work on projects for the scientists that were important (getting the city to fly). I remember the story so clearly in my head, but the name and author escape me completely. If somebody would please help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi again.  I have been trying to find a contemporary AU where Rodney moves into an older house which needs some repair work and hires John to help fix the place up.  John is very interested in Rodney and makes a move on him during a blackout but Rodney keeps pushing him away.  It does have a happy ending...eventually.

After Tabula Rasa, the characters don't regain their memories; this is combined with an AU of This Mortal Coil (in which the RepliTeam don't die), and what emerges when these two plot threads are twined together is a really incredible exploration of identity -- of who we are, and what makes us us, and what aspects of our connections to other people can transcend memory and self (and what can't). This is a stunning look at Sheppard from the inside out, an in-depth examination of what makes him Sheppard and what happens when his concept of himself is turned inside out, what he keeps when his world is shattered and rebuilt. His story is woven in and out of the other characters' lives as they, too, try to understand their current situation, deal with what they've lost, and rebuild. I was amazed and impressed at the author's ability to juggle a large cast and complicated plot without losing track of anything, and to maintain the emotional power of the characters' ties in canon when they're having to rebuild those ties from the ground up. And the twists and turns kept surprising me, a rare thing to find in fanfic, where so many ideas have been worn down into predictability. If you want a novel-length fanfic that takes hold of you and won't let go, hopefully this one will suck you in as it did me.

But! As some of you might have noticed, I am very slowly uploading all of my stories from my own website, off of the old blog, off of random places, into the A3O archive. I have the attention span of a gnat on meth, and cannot be trusted to maintain any website, so once all of this is one, I have a centralized drop box for fic, everybody will be happy because it won't be an awful hunt to find all the stuff I have put up all over the internet. As of now, all of the fanfiction housed on my website through the Harry Potter fanfiction is now up on A3O, and a handful of other things, including (I think) all of my NCIS fiction.

This is fairly recent, maybe a year old or two, I think. John and Rodney crash the jumper somewhere and John is injured(?). Rodney begins to doubt that John is really John and escapes into a cave. Extremely creepy.

I know that I haven't imagined this fic, so please help! Its McShep during the Siege. The only part I really remember is that Weir looks at McKay when Sheppard's 'jumper hits the hive ship, and she understands what 'widow' means.

It's been SO long since I've actually had time to sit down and read fanfics again, and when I finally get the time, I had a hankering to read an AU off of Xanthe's General and Dr. Sheppard story, where John and Rodney meet in highschool. And of course I can't find it. Can anyone help me out?

I can remember so much about this story, it's very frustrating that I have been unsuccessful in finding it!

The team is off-world, and John is going to be executed. Ronon, Teyla, and Rodney are put in separate cages while John is dragged off to be beheaded. At the last second, an animal is killed instead of John but Ronon, Teyla, and Rodney think John is dead until he lets them out of their cages. Rodney is basically in shock - I think I recall that John uses the word "broken" to describe him. McKay/Sheppard.

All I remember about it, is that it was about the rest of the team finding out that Rodney was the father of Teyla's baby.

That's all I remember, really.

Sheppard's unconscious in the infirmary (can't remember why, but I know he was led to believe that the team had all been killed). Teyla, then Rodney put their hands on his (left?) arm, one of very few spots not covered by wounds/bandages/monitoring equip. Ronon comes in and combs through his hair to get the cowlicks to their proper state of sticky-up. Then John realizes that they're really there, and feels safe to wake up.

It's not An Infirmary Christmas by wildcatt88 (13,500 words), though that one's great and I highly recommend it.

Why this must be read: This is a really adorable fic about cultural misunderstandings and friendship and more. It's thoughtful and lighthearted, the characterization is totally *on*, it does both characters justice, and the dynamic between them is very intriguing.

Jennifer has never seen Teyla flee the scene, any scene, but no other phrase comes to mind. It's Jennifer's turn to blink because her eyes don't adjust that fast to the Teyla-shaped hole in the air in front of her. At least she took the gift flowers with her. That's good, right? (1,650 words)

Anyone remember the one where John makes a "care package" for Rodney out of his last  two Tim Tams & something else and writes the contents of the bag as " (2) Two Tim Tams, _______, and (1) one Twinkie" and then adds something about Rodney knowing who stole any of the contents.  And then he gets to stir the pot with "Someone stole your twinkie?!?"  (One scientist even calls another "Twinkie breath" after that.)

We are cleaning out the cupboards! (This is not just a New Year's resolution, this is an every month every week every day resolution - we are what the kids today call "hoarders" or, if they are less polite, "crazy.")

In our kitchen cupboard I found 5 jars of pickled ginger - and in our fridge there were two almost full open jars as well. While combining two open jars of minced garlic, and eyeing the stash of still-sealed garlic, half a shell steak and bunch of almost-dead cherry tomatoes in the fridge, I was struck by either madness or inspiration, and made the following cleaning-out-the-fridge-type dish:

Stir Fry Garlic Beef with Ginger/Tomato Sauce.
Or maybe: Stir Fry Ginger Beef, with Tomato-Garlic sauce.

( It was bizarrely fantastic! So much so that we are going to try it tonight in a 1 pan version (as opposed to big-mess-prep which is common during recipe invention.) )

What's sticking in my mind about this particular story is that John makes an announcement over the coms along the lines of ' I've always been proud to serve my country but never more so than today when I can serve it as an openly gay man...' Ring any bells? Thanks very much in advance
