Why this must be read: "For the last time," Nathan bites out. "He is not a Zombie." Restrained on the bed Fargo moans 'braaaaaaaaaiiiiiinssss' and reaches for Nathan.

I began this set of recs with blowing up the entire canon, so the only appropriate way to end it is with another apocalypse. This story is priceless! Zombies in Eureka! It could be an episode! It has the perfect mix of fantasy cliche and skientific explanation! So many lines made me laugh-out-loud, especially:

Nathan stares at him like he's stupid, which, come to think of it, is Nathan's default expression where Jack is involved.

and

"Oh come on, Carter," Nathan says. "It's more of a guideline really. The DOD says 'bad scientist, no lab time', GD says 'but we need to finish project X and the DOD says 'okay fine, but bad scientist, remember we can take away your lab time'".

She knew she'd hurt and confused him in the months leading up to the wedding-that-hadn't-happened; she still wasn't sure how to explain it to him in words that didn't sound selfish and condescending, but in a strange way it had been Jack's strong, supportive nature and unwavering appreciation for her that had given her the confidence to accept Nathan's second proposal. Without his catalyzing presence, she didn't think either she or Nathan would ever have reached a place where they could have made those sorts of promises to each other again, and mean them.

Why this must be read: It's future!AU, it's smut and it's. So. Fucking. Wonderful.

It's perfect. I lovelovelove how there's no easy fix or quick break, there's no rom com kiss that makes everything alright or angry storming out of the room that causes more drama. It's just... real. Very, very real.

The top/bottom dynamic really worked. It didn't seemed cliché at all, which it often does in Kurt/Puck fics, it slid very easily into the rest of their character traits and what they wanted. Now that I've read them like this (10 years in the future and grown up), it's the only way I can really imagine that they would fit together on a long term basis.

Here, Daniel and Jack ended up on opposing sides when Kelowna disintegrated into war, and the reunion which plays out in this story is laden with the pain all their different experiences have brought. It's a fic which will make you think, and ache for all that is yet to come; the author left a lot of the fixing out of this Meridian fix.

Yes, yes, I know most of you know this one :-) But it's very seasonal. And it's also very good. Following The Light, Daniel attracts the attention of some genuinely menacing Bad Guys when he mysteriously gains the ability to teleport. Therein follows some great Danny Whumping, cool use of canon, and even some traditional rest-of-team-in-pursuit-of-missing-archaeologist shenanigans. Don't let the fact that this is a crossover put you off. I've never seen the Sentinel, yet even as new characters, Jim and Blair play a satisfying and vital part in this superior fic.

This is a huge, sprawling epic told across 2 timelines. Daniel arrives on a planet to find himself hailed as the long-lost King. And then things get weirder. While the story occasionally feels as though it has lost its way a little, the research done by the author lends events a rich background - and the gradual realisation of where the plot is going provide a rewarding payback. An old story (it is set in season 3), it is complete despite the second part spuriously announcing itself as a WIP.

Why this must be read: A Forever Knight episode has a fairly simple setup: Nick and Schanke (or Nick and Tracy) investigate a homicide, while something pertaining to the case causes Nick to reflect on a similar incident or theme from his 800 year history. This story could be eased in quite smoothly into season 2 canon, especially where the interaction between Nick, Schanke and Natalie are concerned. The reader gets a very entertaining story involving a young witness' infatuation with Nick and a flashback to Nick's first love when he was young and mortal. How can you resist a story with teenage!Nick? There aren't a lot of stories that can claim an appearance by young Nick and this one delivers in spades.

Mkay. This is a bit vague (sorry). I read this quite a while back and I really want to read it again, cuz I remember thinking "wow, this story is pretty good"

I believe the story was sorta AU. McShep. Most of the story took place on a beach in....Rodney's summerhouse?
Maybe one of them saved the other from drowning?! (although that could be another story)
I'm pretty sure Sheppard had some scars on his back from some attack.

Wasn't there this story where the team are being made to watch a really loud band as part of some kind of welcome ceremony, like *really* loud and when Rodney realises John can't hear him he starts saying ...things. Things he wouldn't ordinarily say about kissing and, possibly, blowjobs. And its all a big relief for him except John can lip read. Any one else know this one? My google fu has let me down.

I know it's been searched for before, possibly even by me, but since I can't seem to find a way to search this community I'll have to ask.

John, Teyla and Ronon are all, separatley, pining for Rodney. Of course Rodney's oblivious. John and the others come together because if they can't have Rodney at least they can have each other. I'm looking for three stories.

1. John's memory is screwed up in some way, and in order to function, he consults his journal to figure out how to behave. Rodney rags on him for having a secret diary. At some point, John and Rodney are stuck together and John proposes conversational games to pass the time-- from this, Rodney learns that John had named all the little time-wasting games that the two of them played together, like 'Who Deserves to be Canadian' (or something like that.) Pretty sure it's John/Rodney.

2. An OT4 teamfic... the only detail I remember is that John thinks to himself that the OT4 is more like two couples who have sex next to each other, because John and Ronon are really into each other, and Rodney loves/worships Teyla...

3. The team is offworld, invited to browse a library that consists of recorded memories. Their hosts then hold Teyla at knifepoint and record Rodney's memories. But the process damages Rodney's recall, so the team has to go back to the planet and steal some memory recording equipment. At one point they put Rodney in a loop of one single childhood memory of passing something to Jeannie under the table while their parents fight.

Why This Must Be Read: So many authors (thankfully) have attempted to re-write the Heroes episode; this one accomplishes the task with originality using the characters and mythology of the Stargate universe. It is a satisfying read that lives up to the depth of characters portrayed in the show. One lives through the horror of a battlefield, the intensity of emergency medicine and the emotional rollercoaster that working in the SGC brings to each member of the team.
